Ringsfield Hall News!

We ate breakfast  then we played  in the tree house, only 3 people were allowed in at one time (it is quite small – but fun)

When the bell rang we got together at the fire circle and Eren and Alfie tried to get a fire to work but Sue came and helped us light a fire. Finally… IT WORKED! Unfortunately OUR FIRE WAS… GONE! But we didn’t give up and then Eren lit a FIRE at the end.

After, we built Dens. Alfie, Eren and Isaac were building the best den. Stephen poured water on your den to see if it was waterproof, children were in their dens when he poured the water. Lots of us got wet!

Whittling was easy, everyone took part of this fun activity. First,  you get a whittling knife and a soft straight stick.

Secondly, we got our whittling knifes and started to whittle, you could sharpen the end of your stick to make it COOL and so we can toast marshmallows on it!

Finally, check your stick to see if you like it or not.

It’s been lovely and sunny. Playful and enjoyable. We can’t wait to go to Africa Alive tomorrow.

Dear family

Today we learnt how to whittle and create fire with flint and steel. Groups were creating fire other groups were making dens and having fun. Later on in the day we drew pictures of…

1.An  animal.

2. A Building.

3.A Plant.

When you lit your first flame you suddenly got the hang of it and managed to light a fire. But you had to blow on and feed the fire with sticks to keep it going! Whittling the sticks was a fun experience, it made us feel relaxed because it was soothing and satisfying. Also, what made it nice was having the pride of finishing a carved stick….ready for toasting marshmallows on Thursday! YUM!

Finally FREE TIME!!! We love being with our friends and having alot of fun!

A day at Ringsfield Hall

Today at Ringsfield Hall we first tried to ignite a fire, then we made dens and next we did some sketching. Finally we did some ‘whittling’.

Fire lighting

First we teased some cotton wool (ha ha…you silly cotton wool, you!) to start the fire going then we collected a range of different sized twigs to keep the fire alight, next we put some of the twigs that we collected on the cotton wool and left a small space for the sparks to ignite the cotton wool, finally we used flint and steel to create a spark

 Making Den’s

First we gathered some really big sticks from pine trees to make the structure of the den then we got lots of branches with leaves on them to keep the rain from coming through the roof. Steve poured water on the den to see if it was able  to keep it from coming into the den (most of us got wet).

Sketching

After lunch we did 3 sketches 1 of a plant, 1 of a building and 1 of an animal.(we had to do them in our sketching book’s)

Whittling

Also we did whittling to make a sharp stick to toast marshmallows in the fire on the last day. First we had to shave all the bark of then make one end pointy and finally we had free time. So that’s the end of a exciting and enjoyable day at Ringsfield Hall!!!

Hope you aren’t missing us too much!!!

Wish YOU were here? YES!

Today at Ringsfield Hall we fed animals at 9:00. There were four different types of animals, including guinea pigs, goats, chickens and rabbits. We fed the goats bread, the rabbits and guinea pigs ate old peices of salad and ate fruit peelings, but we didn’t feed the chickens.

Later in the afternoon we did four activities which were fire lighting, whittling, sketching and den building. Our favourite activity was whittling because we got to make a stick for roasting marshmellows, however it was difficult because we had to make sure that we didn’t cut too much into the wood.

We love Ringsfield Hall because there’s so much here to do and you never get bored even without electrical devices!!

Amazing Ringsfield Hall!!!

Today at Ringsfield Hall we had lots of fun doing different activities such as making dens from the natural tools around us and firelighting with flint and sticks and cotton to ignite it. We also did some whittling, which is carving sticks with knives plus lots of fun things to do like feeding the animals.

During free time we can explore the forest. The forest is a fun, peaceful place where you can relax with your friends and play in the Treehouse and have lots fun!

In your rooms you can play little games and chat with your friends. But our favourite things about Ringsfield Hall are…

.Holding the animals

.The Treehouse

.Our rooms

Hope its good weather back in london and I also hope your not missing us to much 😉

Awesome! YAY!

Our first stop of our trip was Framlingham Castle, a ruined, ancient knocked down castle. Given a sketch book and a pencil, to treasure for the rest of our journey! We set off to draw our beautiful sights, of Framlingham Castle. Sadly we had to leave, however we were leaving to go somewhere even better, Ringsfield Hall!

Ringsfield Hall had lots of land to explore in and learn about (14 acres of land.). We had a tour with Mel, finding all the places to explore (and not to.). On the way getting stung by thousands of stinging nettles! The ground was surrounded by forests, meadows and long tall grass.

Soon after that we had dinner, delicious pizza followed by fruit salad with ice cream and chocalate sauce dribbling on the top.

Then we had free time, to do anything we wanted to do.  Yay!

REACHING RINGSFIELD HALL

Today we visited a Castle, we took a coach to get there. It was fascinating to look at as it was built in the Tudor times, we also had a sketch book and a pencil to sketch the most interesting parts of the castle, during this event we visited the shop then had lunch!

After that, we had packed up then allowed ourselves back to our seats in the coach. As we were getting closer to Ringsfield Hall, everyone was cheering as it had taken 3 whole hours to get here.

When we arrived at Ringsfield Hall we headed straight to the dining room to have a drink and snack. When everyone had finished a kind lady called Mel took us all on a tour. This was very exciting, but lots of people got stung by stinging nettles.

Then we had dinner which was delicous. We had pizza, then for desert we had ice cream and fruit salad.

After that we had free time when we can play outside and discover the stunning areas of Ringsfield Hall.

Finally Fun!!!!!!

From Hanover to Framlingham castle, finally fun, Ringsfield Hall. We have had a hard and iling day travelling in the stuffy coach, but we managed it. It was amazing, we finally reached our destination and came to a huge, beautiful house…RINGSFIELD HALL!!!!!

With 14 acres of land to roam across with thousands of trees and an amzing history. Pecocks, sheep and chickens all live in this wonderful home of a family which are gracefully helpful and kind (Chris and Ross).

Sharing rooms with my best friends and bonding makes a real diffence in our relationships that are  growing even though theres no internet. Having free time changes a lot, we can explore a diffirent settlement as our topic is settlements.

WOWING MONDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We finally arrived at Ringsfieldl Hall around mid afternoon. When we got here we had an amazing tour of the full 14 acres of grounds, and then went to unpack and check out our amazing rooms.

We both think that Ringsfield is a lovely and homely place to spend a week at. Our room has two soft and delightful bunk beds and one big single bed.

We play out on the meadows kicking rugby balls around the place , also mucking about and having fun. The food is  srumptious and on the menu today was delicious pizza. While for desert we had mouth watering ice cream with chocolate and strawberry sauce. We were ecstatic about the ice cream!

Were looking forward to having another lovely day but with breakfast and lunch (which we haven’t tasted yet).

WE ARRIVED!

On the way to Ringsfield Hall we stopped off at Framlingham castle to have our lunch we explored the castle and sketching interesting things that amazed us, such as the size of the castle.

The sweet smell of the fresh country air was lovely when we first arrived at Ringsfield.  Our room is great, its extremely comfy and quite big. The view from our window is amazing and the food is delicious! We had mouth watering pizza and scrumtious vanilla ice cream.

We really enjoyed playing in the green grass, exploring the forest and having as much fun as we could!

We’re really looking foward to den building, sketching and whittling tomorrow. Hopefully we will post some pictures too!
